Subscriptions and managed agents

Your subscription sets your plan and holds every managed agent you add, so you get one recurring bill however large your fleet grows. Usage is separate and comes from your allowance and credits.

For current plans and amounts, see Live pricing.

Plans come in two groups:

  • Individual plans are single-seat. Personal accounts start on Pay as you go, with no monthly subscription. You can connect your own self-hosted agent, pay for usage from prepaid credits, and add managed agents at any time.
  • Team plans add seats, shared agents, and roles for an organization. You can buy extra seats as you grow. Enterprise plans are custom-quoted.

You can pay monthly, or yearly up front for a lower overall price.

Individual paid plans include a usage allowance, so day-to-day usage doesn’t touch your balance until you’ve used it up. It works on two rolling windows:

  • 5-hour — starts at your first covered usage and resets after five hours.
  • Weekly — starts at your first covered usage and resets after seven days.

The Billing page shows how much of each window you’ve used, as a percentage. Once you reach the allowance, usage draws from your prepaid balance until the window resets.

An agent can run on your own machine or on a managed host that Alfe keeps online.

  • Self-hosted agents run on your infrastructure, so they add no hosting charge.
  • Managed agents are always on, each on its own machine. Paid plans include some, and each extra agent is a monthly add-on priced by size. Higher plans pay less per extra agent.

Two kinds of offer can reduce what you pay:

  • Launch offer — when one is running, it’s applied to new monthly subscriptions at checkout. You don’t need a code.
  • Promo codes — a code can add credit, discount a subscription, or start a free trial of a plan. Enter it when choosing a plan, or under Credits and rewards on the Billing page.

Plans don’t include a trial by default. A trial only comes from a promo code.

You manage everything from the Billing page, where you need billing access in an organization:

  • Change your plan. Select a new plan. Alfe shows you the prorated charge before you confirm.
  • Manage seats. On a team plan, select Manage seats to add or remove purchased seats.
  • Review records. The Subscriptions, Invoices, and Transactions tabs list what you’re paying for and what you’ve paid.
  • Update payment methods. Your card is used for top-ups, renewals, and add-ons.
