Integrations overview

Integrations give an agent reach: the platforms people message it on, the accounts it acts in, and the extra tools it can use. Alfe groups them into three families, and each has its own setup path.

Family What it adds Where you set it up
Channels A place people can message the agent. The agent’s Channels tab
Connections Access to an external account, with matching tools. Connections
Installable integrations Tools you add directly to an agent. The agent’s Integrations tab

Each table lists the runtimes that support the capability. Terminal runtimes means Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and Grok Build. See runtimes for what each one is.

Channels belong to one agent. Add them from that agent’s Channels tab.

Channel What it does Runtimes
Slack The agent’s own bot answers direct messages and channel mentions. OpenClaw, terminal runtimes
Microsoft Teams The agent’s own bot works in chats, group chats, and channels. OpenClaw
Google Chat The agent answers direct messages to a connected Google account. OpenClaw
Mobile (SMS + phone) The agent gets a phone number for calls and texts. OpenClaw
WhatsApp The agent sends and receives WhatsApp messages on its number. OpenClaw
Email People email the agent’s connected Gmail or Outlook mailbox. OpenClaw

You can also chat with an agent in Alfe’s own web, desktop, and mobile apps. See Chat with your agent.

Connect these from the Connections hub. Alfe then activates the matching tools on each agent that can see the connection, so you don’t install anything.

Setup depends on the family:

  • Channels — most run a guided flow. Slack and Teams each create a dedicated bot for that agent. Google Chat, WhatsApp, and Email build on a connection or phone number the agent already has.
  • Connections — you approve access through OAuth, or provide the credentials a provider needs. Most providers support several accounts side by side.
  • Installable integrations — you select Install and fill in any settings.

An agent can also take part. It can generate an OAuth link for you to approve, and install integrations that don’t need a connection. See the Agent API integrations page and MCP.
