Use a template

Installing a template creates a new agent from that template. It’s the fastest way to go from “I need an agent for X” to one that already knows the job.

  1. Open Templates in the dashboard and find a template in the marketplace. You can search, filter by category, and sort by Popular, Trending, Newest, or Most Liked.

  2. Select the template to preview its identity and what it needs.

  3. Select Use Template. The agent setup flow opens with that template preselected.

  4. Finish setup. Choose the runtime and hosting, review the model, and connect anything the template requires.

You can also pick a template when you create an agent from Agents, or start from the public catalog at alfe.ai/templates.

The new agent is yours. It records which template and version it came from, but changing it has no effect on the template, and later template releases don’t change your agent.

A template records which integrations and connections an agent uses, but it never carries anyone’s credentials. Setup shows you what’s required. Anything that needs a login or key waits until you connect your own, and integrations that need no secrets are ready immediately.

Alfe ships built-in templates that cover a real team. Each has a hand-written persona and a first conversation specific to its role. The marketplace shows the full, current list.

  • Product Manager — frames work around users, outcomes, and metrics.
  • Software Architect — reasons in trade-offs and documents decisions.
  • Backend Engineer — learns the codebase and ships well-tested changes.
  • Frontend Engineer — components, state, and design systems, with an eye on accessibility.
  • QA Engineer — hunts edge cases and keeps the quality bar honest.
  • DevOps / SRE — automates everything and treats infrastructure as code.
  • Technical Writer — turns complex systems into docs people read.
  • Customer Support Agent — resolves issues with empathy and product fluency.
  • Customer Success Manager — reads health signals and prevents churn.
  • Sales Development Rep — qualifies leads without getting pushy.
  • Marketing & Content Writer — matches your voice across blogs, emails, and copy.
  • Social Media Manager — shifts tone per platform.
  • Executive Assistant — protects your time and keeps the team aligned.
  • Data & Insights Analyst — turns data into headlines, evidence, and recommendations.
  • Project Manager — turns goals into owned plans and reports status honestly.

To launch several roles together, see Team packs.

Many templates include a bootstrap step: a first conversation in which the agent learns how your team works, then folds what it learns into its memory. It’s not a rigid survey. The agent opens in its persona’s voice and offers to get to work once it knows enough. See Persona files.
